Scrap Block #5

I love how this scrappy block turned out! I will definitely use this block pattern in some quilts. It would look great if you just used a solid color and white. Solid blue and/or red would be best. That would make a beautiful red, white, and blue quilt.

What you need for the scrap block:

Corner squares:

8-1.625" squares of color #1 fabric
8-1.625" squares of white fabric

Flying geese blocks:

4-2.75" x 5" white rectangles
8-2.75" squares in 8 different colors

Center square:

6-1.625" squares color #2 fabric
2-1.625" squares color #3 fabric
8-1.625" squares white fabric

Make the flying geese blocks.

Sew together the 8-1.625" color #1 squares to 8 of the 1.625" white squares for the corner squares.

Sew together the remaining squares to make the center block.

Sew those 4 squares together to complete the center.

Assemble the block. Press to the flying geese blocks.

Two more blocks until the first row is complete!
