What you need:

Color fabric:

• 3 - 5 7/8" squares

White fabric:

• 1 - 5 7/8" square

Make the half square triangles (HST). Lay the 5 7/8" squares right sides together in pairs. Mark a diagonal line along the squares, then sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line. Cut along the line. Press open and trim to measure 5" square.

After doing this with both pairs of squares, you should have 4 HSTs.

Assemble the block.
