What you need:

Color fabric:

• 20 - 2" squares
• 2 - 4 3/8" squares

White fabric:

• 2 - 4 3/8" squares

Make the half square triangles (HST). Lay a 4 3/8" white fabric square on a 4 3/8" color fabric square. Mark a diagonal line along the squares, then sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line. Cut along the line. Press open and trim to measure 3 1/2" square.

Repeat this with the remaining pair of 4 3/8" squares so you have a total of 4 HSTs.

Make the four patch squares. Sew together the 2" squares in sets of 4 to make 5 separate squares.

Assemble the block.
