A Different Way to Hang a Mini Quilt Tutorial

I don't like hand sewing hanging sleeves on quilts. After lots of research, I stumbled upon this way of hanging a quilt. So much easier and faster! If your quilt is more than 24" wide, you need to add loops to the center to keep the quilt up. My quilt was a 23.5" x 23.5" wall hanging I made for Valentine's Day so I didn't need to do that. The pattern for it is available in my shop here.

Cut two 8.5" squares.

Iron them in half wrong sides together.

Pin well to the backs of the top corners of your quilt. Sew them on around the edges of the quilt using 1/8" seam allowance.

Bind your quilt using your preferred binding method. Since the binding gets sewn on using 1/4" seam allowance, it goes over where you sewed on the triangles! Now you can slip a wooden dowel onto the back of the quilt and hang it easily!
