What you need:

White fabric:

2-5 7/8" squares

Color fabric:

2-5 7/8" squares

8-2 3/4" squares

Make the half square triangles (HST).

Lay each color fabric 5 7/8" square on the white 5 7/8" squares right sides together. Mark a line on the squares.

Sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line, then cut along the line.

Press open and trim to measure 5 1/2" square.

Sew together the 2 3/4" squares into two 4 patch blocks.

Assemble the block.
