What you need:

Color fabric:

• 2 - 3 3/8" squares
• 6 - 2 1/2" squares
• 1 - 1 1/2" x 9 1/2"
• 2 - 1 1/2" x 4 1/2"

White fabric:

• 6 - 2 1/2" squares
• 2 - 3 3/8" squares

Make the half square triangles (HST). Lay one white fabric 3 3/8" square on a color fabric 3 3/8" square right sides together. Mark a diagonal line along the squares, then sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line. Cut along the line, press open, and trim to measure 2 1/2" square.

Repeat this with the remaining pair of 3 3/8" squares so you have a total of 4 HSTs.

Assemble the block.
