Scrap Quilt 2016 - 2017: Block #22



Cutting Instructions

Color Fabric
  • 44 - 2" squares
  • 4 - 3 1/2" squares

White Fabric
  • 20 - 2" x 3 1/2" rectangles
  • 44 - 2" squares
*Note: Always press to the color fabric unless otherwise noted.

Step 1. Sew together the 2" squares in pairs, one white fabric square and one color fabric square per pair.


Step 2. Sew together 24 of the pairs in sets of two to make the four patch blocks. Make a total of 12 four patch blocks.




Step 3. Sew the remaining pairs onto a 2" x 3 1/2" white fabric rectangle. Press to the 2" square pair. Make a total of 20 of these one patch squares.


Step 4. Referring to the next 4 photos, make the blocks shown. Use 2 - four patch squares, 1 - 3 1/2" square, and 1 - one patch square per block. Make a total of 4 blocks.





Step 5. Sew together 4 - one patch squares to make the next block. Make 4.





Step 5. Make the center block by sewing together the remaining four patch squares.


Step 6. Referring to the next 3 photos, assemble the block. Press to the center and corner squares.
