Scrap Block #8

The second row has been started, hooray! This block ended up having some pretty bold colors. The red pieces are actually flannel, which in person you can actually see how it has a different texture compared to the other fabrics. It helps to give the quilt an even more scrappy look!

What you need:

1-3.5" square for the center

Corner blocks:

4-4.875" squares from 4 different fabrics

Little blocks:

1-2" x 16" strip of white fabric
1-2" x 16" strip of color fabric

Sew together the 4-4.875" squares in pairs to make them into 4 HSTs.

Trim to measure 4.25". Sew together the HSTs in pairs to make 4 more HSTs, matching up the different ones.

Trim to measure 3.5". Make the little block squares. Sew together the two fabric strips.

Cut apart into 8-2" segments.

Assemble the block.

41 blocks to go!
