Scrap Block #38

What you need:

Color fabric:

• 4 - 2 3/4" squares
• 1 - 6 3/4" square

White fabric:

• 4 - 2 3/4" squares
• 1 - 6 3/4" squares

Make the half square triangles (HST). Lay 1 - 6 3/4" white square on a yellow 6 3/4" square right sides together. Mark a diagonal line along the squares then sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line. Trim along the line. Press open and trim to measure 5 7/8" square. Press to the color fabric.

Lay the 2 HSTs right sides together so the seams will nest.

Mark a diagonal line perpendicular to the seams. Sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line, then cut along the line. Press open and trim to measure 5" square.

Assemble the block.
