Scrap Block #39

What you need:

Color fabric:

• 2 - 4 3/8" squares
• 2 - 2" x 6 1/2" rectangle
• 1 - 3 1/2" square

White fabric:

• 2 - 4 3/8" squares
• 2 - 2" x 6 1/2" rectangle

Make the half square triangles (HST). Lay one 4 3/8" white square on a 4 3/8" color square right sides together. Mark a diagonal line along the squares, then sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line. Cut along the line, then press open and trim to measure 3 1/2" square.

Repeat this with the remaining pair of 4 3/8" squares so you have 4 HSTs.

Assemble the block.
