What you need:

Color fabric:

• 2 - 5 7/8" squares
• 4 - 3 5/8" squares

White fabric:

• 4 - 3 5/8" squares

Make the half square triangles (HST). Lay a 5 7/8" square on another 5 7/8" square right sides together. Mark a diagonal line along the squares, then sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line. Cut along the line. Press open and trim to measure 5" square.

Repeat this with the 3 5/8" color fabric and white fabric squares to make 8 smaller HSTs.

Assemble the block.
