I'm always amazed when sewing decorative stitches, the needle moves so quickly and precisely, while the feed dogs move the fabric backwards and forwards. All of this is perfectly timed with the bobbin spinning underneath. New sewing machines are becoming faster and yet they still can make perfect stitches. Of course, the quality of your stitches depends on many factors: Thread quality, fabric quality, thread tension, needle quality, and how clean or well oiled the machine is. If all of this is just right, it's fun to watch the needle sew away as the beautiful stitches are made.
I took videos in slow motion of when I was sewing some decorative stitches. They start out at normal speed, then go slow so you can see the difference. It's hard to tell it's slow motion, my sewing machine is so fast!
