Scrap Block #2


Cutting Instructions

White fabric
  • 4 - 2 7/8" squares

Color fabric
  • 1 - 5 3/4" square
  • 4 - 2 3/4" squares
  • 4 - 1 5/8" x 5" strips, preferably all different colors.

Assembly

*Note: Always press to the color fabric unless otherwise noted.

Step 1: Make the flying geese blocks. Use the 5 3/4" color fabric square and the 4 - 2 7/8" white fabric squares. Lay two of the 2 7/8" squares on the 5 3/4" square right sides together. Mark a diagonal line along the squares, then sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line.
Cut along the line, then press back the squares.


Lay the remaining 2 7/8" squares on the 5 3/4" square pieces right sides together. Mark a diagonal line along each of the squares, then sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line.


Cut along the lines, then press back the squares.



Step 2: Assemble the block. Sew together the four flying geese blocks, the 2 3/4" squares, and the 1 5/8" x 5" strips. Press to the 2 3/4" squares where applicable.
