What you need:
Color fabric:
- 4 - 2" x 3 1/2" rectangles
- 2 - 4 3/8" squares
- 4 - 1 1/2" squares
White fabric:
- 2 - 4 3/8" squares
- 9 - 1 1/2" squares
Make the half square triangles (HST). Use the 4 3/8" squares. Lay one color fabric square on a white fabric square, then mark a diagonal line along the squares. Sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line, then cut along the line. Press open and trim to measure 3 1/2" squares.
Repeat this with the second pair of squares so you have a total of 4 HSTs.
Sew together the 2" x 3 1/2" rectangles in pairs.
Sew together the 1 1/2" squares to make a nine patch block.
Assemble the block.
What a great block! I have a ton of 9 patcvhes - I may have to try this!
