Scrap Block #19

This block pattern is a little different. It's the second one I have made for this scrap quilt that was made offset with a border.

What you need:

Color fabric:

  • 4 - 2 3/8" squares
  • 1 - 2" x 6 1/2" rectangle
  • 1 - 2" x 8" rectangle
White fabric:

  • 1 - 3 1/2" square
  • 1 - 4 1/4" square
  • 4 - 2" squares
  • 1 - 2" x 8" rectangle
  • 1 - 2" x 9 1/2" rectangle
Make the star points. Lay two of the 2 3/8" squares on the 4 1/4" square. Mark a diagonal line along the squares. The corners of the squares should overlap.

Sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line, then cut along the line.

Press back the color fabric triangles, then lay the remaining 2 3/8" squares on the two star point pieces.

Mark a line along each of the squares, then sew 1/4" away from both sides of the line. Cut along the line.

Press back the color fabric triangles. You should now have 4 cute little flying geese! They should measure 2" x 3 1/2".

Assemble the block.

Only 2 more blocks to finish the row! 30 more blocks to finish the whole quilt!
